A number of people have reported problems compiling the latest release of Py-ChemShell if they do not have pip installed. This is due to an issue with the Cmake compilation script, which has now been resolved in a minor update to the release (version 21.0.2). If you have encountered a problem with Cmake failing during compilation please try again with version 21.0.2, which is available for download now from the ChemShell website.
